Skydive Airlie Beach Tour Plan
You can either make your own way to the Skydive Airlie Beach office for your check in time, or they can provide you with a courtesy pick up service from your accommodation. Once you arrive at the office, you will be welcomed by one of the friendly crew members who will take you through the necessary safety procedures and paperwork.
Your Skydive Airlie Beach crew will collect the remaining balance for your skydive and APF levy, if you haven’t already, you can also book your handicam video/photo package; this includes a 5-7 minute video of your skydive, filmed by wrist-mounted GoPro. You will receive over 100 photos of your skydive, saved to a custom Skydive USB for easy uploading and sharing with friends and family!
After your safety briefing you will be transferred to the Whitsunday Airport, a short 10 minute drive away. Once you reach the skydive terminal, you will meet your awesome instructor for the first time. Your experienced instructor will now gear you up ready to jump, remind you of the safety procedures ang get you ready to meet the plane. You'll then walk over to the aircraft and board with your instructor. Get prepared for the incredible experience that happens next!
The climb to altitude is breathtaking, you will be able to see gorgeous views over Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands as you ascend, easing any nerves you may be feeling. Once you have reached your desired altitude, your instructor will secure both of your harnesses so the two of you are fully attached, and you'll move to the door together. Then... jump!
The moment you leave the plane and go into freefall is indescribable.
When the time comes, your instructor will deploy the parachute. At this point, everything slows down and becomes peaceful. You'll be able to get your breathe back, and to talk to your instructor, if you like. The views over Airlie Beach are astounding, and you'll have around 5-6 minutes to enjoy them as you travel back down to earth. For landing, your instructor will bring the parachute to its slowest forward and downward speed, so expect a gentle arrival, landing in a seated position. You'll then be disconnected from your instructor, and together you'll return to the spectator area, where you'll be reunited with your family and friends.
After your skydive, you will be taken back to the main check in office in Airlie Beach and the skydive staff will get your video/ photo package ready for you. You can collect them on the same day, as well as a certificate of your skydive.

Skydive Australia Terms & Conditions
The following are the terms of trade of “Skydive Australia” (“SA”).
Acceptance of Booking Terms and Conditions: Confirmation of a booking and authorisation of payment indicates acceptance of these booking terms and conditions. You also agree to further indemnify SA, it’s associate companies, directors and associates against any risk or action related to your participation in your skydive.
Purchasing a Gift Voucher: Gift vouchers purchased directly through Skydive Australia (online at skydive.com.au or over the phone with our Reservations team) are valid for 3 years from the purchase date. Failure to redeem the gift voucher by the expiry date shown on the certificate will render your voucher invalid. Treat your voucher like cash and take care not to lose it. Lost or stolen gift vouchers are non-refundable and replacements are not available, you will be required to purchase a new voucher. Gift Vouchers are non-refundable, not redeemable for cash, but are transferable to another person. In order to transfer a gift voucher into another customer’s name, the original purchaser must contact our Skydive Australia Reservations team to make the change.
Redeeming a Gift Voucher: To redeem a Gift Voucher, call us on 1300 815 245 to book a skydive. Once your voucher has been redeemed for a skydive, our booking conditions will apply. Where the cost of your booking is greater than the value of your voucher, you will be required to pay the difference at the time of booking. Where the cost of your booking is less than the value of your voucher you will not be entitled to a refund, however the difference in price may be used to pay towards merchandise or a photo & video package at the drop zone on the day of your skydive
Making a Reservation for Others: If you have made a tandem skydive reservation on behalf of others, you will be considered by the SA Reservations team as the ‘Group Organiser’ and it is your responsibility to ensure all members of the group are informed and aware of SA’s Booking Terms & Conditions. Group Organisers are responsible for providing us with the names of all individuals in their group, who wish to tandem skydive together. Last minute additions to group bookings are required to pay in full prior to arrival at the Drop Zone. If additions are made to the group on the day, it is likely the whole group may incur a delay to their jump time, and in some instances may have to wait until the conclusion of the day’s bookings before skydiving. While SA endeavours to assign groups in the same load, SA reserves the right to change group configurations where necessary due to operational requirements. No refunds will be made available where SA changes the group configuration.
Availability of Jump Dates & Time Slots: All jump dates and times are subject to availability. Always check availability and days of operation either online or with the SA reservations team, prior to confirming a booking on behalf of the customer.
Location & Duration of a Tandem Skydive: Note that all bookings are given an ‘arrival/check-in’ time only. Please note this is not a skydive ‘jump’ time. Whilst SA endeavor to complete an individual’s tandem skydive within 4 hours of arrival, SA advise arriving with no time constraints, and should plan for this to be a whole day’s activity. As safety is SA’s main concern, factors such as wind, cloud, rain, thermal turbulence etc. and other factors such as air traffic can affect the time it takes to complete the skydive activity. Weather can change for better or worse in minutes, and customers will be unable to skydive unless they are at SA’s Drop Zone. SA utilises multiple landing sites at each of its locations. The location of the landing site for each parachute drop may vary depending on weather conditions, with the focus being on customer safety. Customers must remain with their Tandem Master and listen to their instructions as landing areas may present additional hazards such as sand dunes, tides, or local wildlife. Refunds or compensation will not be made if a spectator does not witness a landing.
Personal Identification: Make sure that you and everyone in your group has a valid government-issued photo ID on arrival at the drop zone on the day of your skydive.
Age Requirements: By regulation the minimum age to tandem skydive in Australia is 16 years old. SA must be notified in writing prior to the jump date if a customer is between 16 and 18 years of age and must have parental or legal guardian consent. If under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must be present at the drop zone on the day of the skydive. If a parent or legal guardian is not present, the customer must immediately notify a member of staff at the drop zone, who will arrange for the correct documents of consent to be sent and signed prior to skydiving.
Weight Requirements and Surcharges: Weight is an important factor in Skydiving and Aviation. It affects aircraft weights and balances, fuel allowances, climb rates and equipment maintenance. Once at the drop zone, all customers are subject to a weight assessment by a Drop Zone Safety Officer or Tandem Master due to restrictions to the harness size, weather conditions and safety reasons. Click for more information and FAQs.
If a customer weighs over 94kgs, our Reservations team must be notified in writing prior to the jump date. The following weight surcharges will apply (payable at the drop zone):
94kg – 104kgs = $55.00 AUD
105kg – 114kgs = $80.00 AUD*
115kgs and over = $105.00 AUD**
*Customers weighing over 105kgs, will require an additional assessment by our Drop Zone Safety Officer or Tandem Master due to restrictions to the harness size, weather conditions and safety reasons.
**Note that weight cut-off limits apply and vary by drop zone and by day. At most drop zones, the maximum limit is 110-115kgs. Customers weighing over 110kgs may be able to jump however this is subject to availability of qualified tandem masters and which drop zone they wish to jump at.
Medical Conditions: Skydive Australia must be notified prior to the jump date of any pre-existing or existing medical conditions, injuries or illnesses. You will also be asked when you check in and may require an assessment from our Safety Officer. Medical conditions which could affect the customer’s safety should be discussed with a doctor to ensure customers are fit to skydive. If required, bring a medical certificate with you from your doctor confirming you are okay to participate in a skydive. Please advise SA if you are taking prescription medication. It is our obligation to inform you that if you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, sinus or ear equalising issues on the day of your skydive, it may potentially lead to further health complications during or after your jump, and we urge you to proceed with caution. Read more about it here or contact us if you wish to ask any questions before booking.
Consumption of Alcohol or ‘Recreational’ Drugs: No alcohol or “recreational” drugs are to be consumed within 8 hours prior to the scheduled skydive jump time. For the safety of all customers and staff, SA reserves the right to refuse customers who are suspected of being intoxicated or having impaired judgment, and this does not constitute a claim for a refund.
Restrictions for Scuba Diving: Due to medical restrictions, you must not scuba dive within 24 hours of the scheduled skydive jump time.
Restrictions on Personal Equipment: For the safety of all customers and in accordance with skydive regulations, the use of all electronic devices, including personal camera and video equipment is not permitted on the aircraft or at any time during the jump. SA does not take responsibility for any personal belongings lost during a skydive including glasses or clothing.
Purchasing Photos and Videos: Whilst it is not mandatory to book a video or photographs, it is advisable, as on some occasions a late change of mind may result in disappointment. If you have purchased a video package through SA, it will be tested on the day of your tandem skydive, and then made available for viewing on the same day. Your acceptance of the video on the day will be deemed as your approval of it being in full working order. No refunds will be made available after your departure from our offices for those videos that are considered not to be in full working order. Please be advised that should there be any technical issues relating to camera/dubbing equipment, no refunds can be made for the individual skydive as the filming and skydive are two separate products. If we are unable to provide you with the skydive video or photo product due to technical issues a refund for the video or photo product purchased will be issued. If only a portion of your video or photo product fails you will be issued with a refund for the balance of the amount paid less the value of the product actually received.
Copyright Photos and Videos: Videos and photographs purchased through SA remain the copyright of the videographer who took the footage and they own and retain the right to the footage and photographs. A licence agreement exists between SA and the respective videographer who took the respective footage. Such footage may be used by SA for company marketing purposes and reproduction of videos sold and may only be used or reproduced by the purchaser or recipient for private or domestic purposes and must not be used for any commercial purpose, including promotion of any supplier or any supplier’s products or services without the videographer’s and SA’s prior permission. Should you not want any of your footage or photographs uploaded to SA social media platforms, or used in company marketing, it is your responsibility to advise our SA staff prior to your jump.
Australian Parachute Federation (APF): APF Membership is mandatory for all tandem skydive customers. The APF membership levy is included in the price of your tandem skydive, there are no other hidden fees or prices.
